Sometimes you have your small, intimate affairs for Weddings…  Then sometimes you get into a big affair,  where things can get crazy.  This weekend we were at the Riverview in Simsbury, CT.  This Engagement had it all.  200 family and friends, uplighting, outside ceremony and more.  We will try to highlight some of the most memorable and inspiring things of this somewhat large Wedding Celebration.

The ceremony was held outside on the patio at the Riverview, with a violinist playing prelude music, along with the recessional and processional.  We did however have a wireless microphone installed for the officiant.  The guests then moved inside for a cocaktail hour in a section of the main ballroom cordened of by large dividers. These dividers were then moved for the Dinner portion, and guests were able to find their seats.

The bride and groom were then introduced to Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel”, and danced to Chantal Kreviazuk’ “Feels Like Home”.

Before Dinner, the Bride & Groom were toasted by both Maid of Honor‘s, Both Best Men, and 2 impromptu speeches by 2 groomsmen.

After Dinner, and cake cutting, the staff opened up a custom candy bar for the guests.  Including theater style dispensers of favorites such as Skittles, M&M’s, Reeses and more.

Dancing went well into and beyong midnight and most of the 200 guests stayed to party all the way to the end.

Wedding Ceremony & Reception at Waterview in Monroe, CT. DJ with Reception Music and Ceremony Sound with Wireless Mic.

The weather was beautiful last weekend and provided a great atmosphere for an outside Summer Wedding Ceremony and inside Reception.  We were with a young couple at the Waterview in Monroe, CT.  The outside patio area was the most lush collection of beautifully groomed gardens and a flowing waterfall.  It was a great backdrop for the outside vows, along with large arches and a lake side setting. We provided sound with Prelude, Processional and Recessional Music. We also provided a Wireless lapel microphone for the Minister.

Dinner and dancing moved inside to the large ballroom with large windows overlooking the lake, hence their name.  We re-introduced the couple into the room and did their first dance before Dinner, with their Bridal Pary joining in half way through.  After Dinner we went into cake cutting and the other specialty dances.  Below is a text file of this couples playlist so you can get some ideas for your next event.  Download playlist into your iTunes and it will automatically add songs you already have and make songs you’re missing red for you to look at or buy.

70th Birthday Party at Berlin VFW, CT. DJ Music and Lighting Services.

We were honored to be a part of the Pappalardo 70th Birthday celebration for Lester, a well known and respected veteran of the Armed Services.  We provided a small sound system for the cozy venue at the VFW in Berlin, CT.  The night started with about 60 – 90 minutes worth of light background dinner music.  Dancing included a bit of Old Country-Western and some newer Top 40 for the kids.  We also had a small LED light show that lit up the small up like a “light bulb”, no pun intended.

This Month’s Feature Service – The Magical Bubble Experience

This month we are featuring a popular but sometimes forgotten effect that adds magic to any first dance, kids party  or corporate affair.  the bubble effect is a dramatic showering of bubbles raining down from the ceiling creating shiny circle in all directions around the dance floor.  This effect is often attempted to be duplicated with the passing out of small containers of soap bubbles to guests.  The object is to have as many guests as possible blow tiny amounts of bubbles until they’re blue in the face, in hopes that the combined effort produces enough sustained bubbles to create a massive showering.  This theory is good, but flawed.  First of all, your guests may find that the time they spend trying to maintain bubble flow is time they could be enjoying the party, and taking pictures and videos of these memories.  Secondly, the cheaper soap bubbles can sometimes lead to a sticky mess.  Professional bubble machines offer a solution to this with special quick dry no mess bubble mixtures. Wedding Disk Jockey Entertainment Services at J. Timothy’s in Plainville, CT. Reception Music and Uplighting.

We were a part of another beautiful engagement of a couple I met many months back, very near to their reception venue.  The Reception was held at J. Timothy’s Taverne in Plainville, CT. We provided some complimentary uplighting of the fireplace, appetizer table and sweetheart table to add some ambiance.  We also provided some dance floor lighting, which can be seen in the video below. Online planning before the event was simple, with the couple only choosing their specialty songs, including their first dance song which was “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri.  After introductions and their First Dance, we sat down to dinner of J. Timothys’ famous 1 million ounce size prime rib.  The small crowd of about 50 stayed through the entire night and danced to oldies, Top 40 and even some line dances.  Please check out our pictures and video below.
